Repairing the CPU arm

Well the CPU arm is having some issues.

Where it mounts to the large-scale servo is a bit problematic.  The arm has an L bracket on it, which then bolts on to the metal servo horn.  The arm has worked well for weeks but since the attach point is one bolt, it was a matter of time before is loosened.

Here's what happens..as the arm got loose, its more difficult for the servo horn to lift it/hold it steady.  As a result, this gives the servo feedback and it begins to twitch.

Tonight I removed the cpu arm from the servo horn to draw out some ideas...

I've actually thought of a few ways to re-do this with a linear actuator.  That would replace the car power antenna, which is taking up some valuable space.

However with the R2 fund being what it is (Ha, can you say *zero*?), I will have to see what I can do to tweak/repair the existing setup.

Back to work!
