First soldering!

Well it finally happened....I took the soldering iron out of the shrink-wrapped package!  After educating myself on splicing stranded wires and soldering them to contacts...it was time to put what I learned into action.

In this case, it was time to wire up the cooling fan to a 2 position (off/on) switch...

I don't think I'll win any awards but it worked!

I didn't take any pictures of the installation into R2 but I drilled a small hole on the charging plate.  That's an easy spot to open the charging door, flip the switch and turn the fan on as needed.  

As for noise, with R2's dome on....you don't hear it at all!
