Saturday was our final get together for 2010. This event was hosted by Nick Murray down in Union, Maine, just under 2 hours away from me.
For those of us who didn't go to the big Star Wars: Celebration 5 event in Orlando last August, it was a great chance to hear about it from those who went.
We had three R2's at the gathering: My R2-D2, Nick's R2-D2 and John Endre's pink R2.
However the star of the show was Cory Pacione's WALL-E. Made entirely of wood, its a beautiful piece of work.
Jerry Greene, who designs and does production runs on many of the metal parts we have, brought in a plastic prototype of the zapper that R2-D2 uses in "Revenge of the Sith" to fight off the buzz droids. Jerry also had the Rocket Boosters on display.
Tom Doucet brought in the metal version of his motorized gripper arm. A beautiful piece of work.
Here's some photos from the gathering.
